In March of 2012 a group of individuals from the public, private, and faith based sectors came together to address the gaps and shortfalls in our community's resources regarding the circumstances prompting the homeless enigma overwhelming our community. Based on the results of an independent study the group developed a cohesive strategy to address the shortfalls and inadequacies of our current delivery system to provide for the needs of our homeless population. The hub of their plan was to establish a non-profit organization that would have the capability to unite our community's current resources, and fill the gaps in our current delivery system by utilizing proven best practice services.
Heritage House was established as a 501 c 3 non-profit to address these issues. In the past twelve months Heritage House has served 276 separate homeless individuals, provided over 500 separate units of service ranging from emergency food, clothing, and shelter to employment and permanent housing.
As a result of our efforts 107 men, women and children no longer live on the streets of our community.
We are a community based not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization formed in partnership and collaboration between the faith, public and private sectors dedicated to providing services to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in an effort to prevent and / or alleviate homelessness within our community.
To provide needed community services designed to help the homeless achieve stable and independent lives.
To empower homeless or at risk of homelessness individuals, and families by connecting them to programs and services that provide work, recovery, housing and support services to people who are motivated to change their lives and achieve self-sufficiency..
